Overview
Both Sprint and Olympic races take place on Sat 01 June Bank Holiday weekend 2013.
Tri-Burgh Sprint distance is ; swim 750m, bike 20 Km, Run 5 Km. Tri-Burgh Olympic distance is; swim 1500m, Bike 40 Km, Run 10 Km. The course is varied & includes challenges specific to the course and the geography of west mayo. A word of warning - this event will not be one for a personal best time!
Our swim start is tidal and will start at 11:45 with an onshore tidal stream during the swim stage. This is a spectacular open water swim in Clew Bay
Hot showers & food is available for competitors afterwards followed by a prize giving in Louisburgh on Saturday evening.

Swim
The swim is an open water course in Clew Bay – wetsuits are mandatory.
Bike
The bike route is generally a circular route but has an out & back leg taking in the magnificent Doo Lough Valley. This has a fast downhill section which is a climb on the return. Hovever please note that the Doo-Lough Valley is not on the Sprint course. The remainder of the bike course is on undulating allowing you to take in the spectaculaur scenery. Run
The run starts with a climb which undulates for approximately half the distance coming to a flat gentle home strait for those tired legs. A route profile of the Olympic Run is available here and a profile of the sprint route will be avaialble shortly.
Transition Area
All of our transitions are from a central area located 1km from Louisburgh. There is adequate parking for competitors & spectators adjacent to the transition area and toilet facilities are available. There will be some restrictions in place and ask everyone to be paitent with our traffic management plan.

Registration
Registration will be in Louisburgh in on 31st May and on the morning of race day in transition area; more details to follow closer to race day.
To get to Louisburgh travel to Westport and take the R135 to Louisburgh. You will enter Louisburgh on Long Street.
Competitors will receive timing chip, an excellent high-quality goody bag provided by our sponsors Elvery Sports.
Insurance
All full members of triathlon Ireland must bring their 2013 membership cards to registeration. If you are not a member of Triathlon Ireland you need to purchase a one-day licence to race in Tri-Burgh. Unfortunatly these are only available from Triathlon Ireland; you can get one by clicking here
For relay teams a single one-day license or triathlon Ireland membership is needed.
